Abstract

In later decades, this novel’s outstanding prestige during the sixties turned into knowledge of actuality centered on testimonial discourse and the author-witness. Carlos Martínez Moreno, a participant in the hegemonic intellectual circles of the River Plate half century, and especially dedicated to narrative fiction since then, was to be involved in the debate in Cuadernos de Marcha about his last novel, El color que el infierno me escondiera (1981), located on the vague boundaries of fiction. Analysis of the contention between novel and testimony and the impact of this publication of Martínez Moreno’s at different levels will be among the purposes of this paper.
