A brief introduction to the concept of ekphrasis

The concept of ekphrasis has been thoroughly worked in the past decades, nevertheless, its history goes way back into antiquity. The following article exposes the main theoretical perspectives. Then, a brief selection of famous ekphrasis examples is presented.
