Abstract

This article reviews the life of Publius Vergilius Maro and addresses his first works: Eclogae and Georgica libri. Additionally, it places the Mantuan poet in his historical context, highlighting the two literary periods he travelled. Finally, it addresses the
epic material in The Aeneid, the great Augustan epic where myth and history are entwined.
