Watching ourselves through Euripides’ "Medea"
Keywords:
Euripides –Abstract
In the context of ancient Greek tragedy, Euripedes is the author closest to our sensibility, and therefore the most disconcerting. In his plays, especially Medea, he presents radical otherness, which does not fit into the dominant system of values, even if at the same time a consequence of the system. This topic thus becomes an attractive subject for debate in the classroom, as well as a means of questioning our own values and prejudices.
