Silence of Humanity, 2016
Keywords:
humanities – holocaust – painting – prisoners – concentration campsAbstract
The Art from the Holocaust exhibition in Berlin, in January 2016, calls for reflection on art and the humanities. Searches have traced the biographies of some of the authors of the works in the lagers or after the experience of survival, in a quest for a name, a quest for a life behind the painting. Pavel Fantl’s watercolor, The song is over, 1944, has been selected to make an interpretative
proposal based on German culture of the time. Lastly, three reflections are proposed on this art produced on the verge of Humanity.
