Abstract

In this article I analyze the expression or silence of homoerotic sensibility in the poetry of Federico García Lorca, Vicente Aleixandre and Luis Cernuda. I have selected some poems written before 1936, in order to discover the construction of a new language and its masks, veils and symbols as well as the conflicts they suffered because of their sexual orientation. At that time the historical and social conception of sexe was very harsh and it was very difficult to choose different options as they did. While Aleixandre hid his condition until his death and Cernuda showed it openly, Garcia Lorca hesitated. These different ways of living also generated different ways of writing.
