Acercamiento a "Hijos de la ira", de Dámaso Alonso
Keywords:
uprooted poetry – anguish – postwar – existence - poetryAbstract
This work endeavors to provide an approach to Dámaso Alonso’s poetry. The reference point taken, which we deem unavoidable, is the 1944 publication of the book "Hijos de la ira". Thus, both the relocation of Damasian poetry in the context of the lyric of the Spanish Generation of 1927 and the approach to some of its thematic lines such as the very reception of the book by critics of the time will enable us to see some of the more original and ‘rupturist’ aspects of a kind of uprooted poetry that began to appear in the silent bosom of its generation and would eventually come to light in Spain’s early, hard postwar years, fostering as of its publication a violent change in Spanish lyric, becoming the unquestioned focus of reference for younger generations of poets.
