Pruebas de deconstrucción de los modelos hegemónicos de dominación. Transgresión y subversión culturales en No aceptes caramelos de extraños, de Andrea Jeftanovic

Abstract

Our purpose in the following pages –the collection of short stories No aceptes caramelos de extraños (2011) by the Chilean writer Andrea Jeftanovic– is to examine the contents of the renovating vision present in the fictional proposal of the so called «Generation of sons». In particular, the first story that we analyzed, «Mañana saldremos en los titulares», returns from a biased and metaphorical perspective to the trauma associated with the years of the Chilean dictatorship: in this case, we will see how Jeftanovic carries out a substantial remodeling of the entrenched hegemonic roles, reversing the established schemes of domination/vexation through: a) a transgression with respect to the crystallized models of heterosexual sexuality; b) a symbolic-political use of the spilling of human blood. Our reading of the second story, «Árbol genealógico», refers to a dismantling of the structuring paradigms of the dominant social and cultural models through an inversion of gender roles; an inversion that can be read as: a) a re-reading or re-configuration of gender dynamics associated with certain forms of exercise of power; b) a discourse of de-subjection of canonical social and ideological models through a reprehensible act.
